We came up with the idea of doing something different (but of course!) and surprise the guests with a radio show! As in this particular wedding everything stayed in the family, we also recorded the radio programm. I wrote down the guide and we asked the couple to select a sample of their favorite songs. The style was inspired by the radio show "My life, my music" of the station Radio Slovenia International. Every day on this show they invite a foreing who lives (or is somehow in contact) in Slovenia to interview him and play the songs he selected along that hour. We renamed our show "My love, my music". My husband acted as the speaker and interviewer (as my slovene is not good enough for it, and the entire show was recorded in slovene language). We included games and tests to the couple that we prepared in secret with their friends and relatives.
The design of the invitation has that retro radio feel and, as it was everything in black and white we printed it ourselves at home. Printable vinyl cd's were a great choice and the cd cases were made by 100% recycled paper. As printed cases were too expensive for their budget, we decorated them together using rubber stamps and a ribbon on the color that they had chosen for their wedding scheme.
The result was a very funny surprise that had all guests calling them to tell them how cool this invitation was, and at an affordable price.
